This week’s focus was on water. I feel that water has always been a well taught topic throughout my education and still remember a lot about the water topic in grade 3 which followed the use of water from the tap to sewerage and our waterways. I did however find the idea of water gardens really new and exciting, as I didn’t know about the importance of treating stormwater runoff. I think the importance of these kinds of projects as it combines science and art and is accessible to the community. Making it a constant reminder of the need to improve water quality and can start a discussion on the topic. I hope more communities, schools and individuals implement rain gardens.
